Our judge: Sue Mitchell
Sue Mitchell has been Director of the Manning Regional Art Gallery for 10 years. Prior to that she was Director of Muswellbrook Reg. Art Gallery, then Lake Macquarie Art Gallery. Her early career began as a High School art teacher at Quirindi and St. Marys College, Gunnedah. Sue has been instrumental in bringing a diverse range of art exhibitions to the Manning area, and has overseen the moving and growth of the current Gallery. We welcome Sue as our Judge for our 30th Open Exhibition.

Conditions of Entry:

Failure to comply will result in ineligibility for judging.

  1. NO copies. Work must be the original unaided work of the Exhibitor, executed within the last two years and not previously shown in the Great Lakes area.
  2. Number of Entries: In sections 1,2,3, 4 & 5 combined, exhibitors are limited to a total of two (2) works. In section 6, exhibitors are limited to a total of 4 works. All works must be for sale. The proceeds of all works sold at the price indicated on the ENTRY FORM LESS COMMISSION OF 20% will be paid at end of exhibition.
  3. Senior's discount of 5% is applicable to all sales during exhibition.
  4. Entry fees: Sections 1,2,3,4 & 5 - $15 per entry non members, $8 per entry to GLAS Inc. members.
    Section 6 - $8 non members and $5 members of GLAS per painting.. Fees are non refundable.
  5. Entries to be received with fees by Monday 12th March, 2012
  6. All works must be clearly marked on the back with Exhibitor’s name, address, title, medium, section and price.

    Shown here is the preferred method of artwork presentation for hanging, D type shackle / clamp is screwed to either the stretcher frame or outer frame approximately one third of the height of the artwork from the top of the artwork. The wire is then strung loosely, but not with too much slack between the two clamps. Exhibitor’s name, address, title, medium, section and price Tag is located bottem right
    Works must be presented wired and ready for hanging (no hooks).
    Size limit is 350cm total outside measurement unframed.
    SMALL PAINTINGS HOWEVER MUST BE FRAMED!
    Wet paintings and oversize paintings will not be accepted.
  7. Publicity: The exhibitor warrants that she/he holds sole copyright in each work entered and unconditionally consents to the reproduction of each work in the mass media for news and promotional purposes.
  8. Hanging: The exhibition committee is not bound to exhibit every entry and any entry incorrectly classified may be placed in the proper section by the judge or committee. The exhibition committee reserves the right to withhold any work considered unsuitable for hanging.
  9. If there insufficient entries in any one section, committee reserves the right to combine two sections.
  10. Insurance: The exhibitor must not make any claim against GLAS in respect of damage to or loss of any work exhibited (including damage or loss arising from the negligence of GLAS Inc. or its agents) and should ensure that the exhibited works are adequately insured.
    Any policy of insurance must name the exhibitor and GLAS as the insured parties.
  11. Delivery and collection of entries, whether by hand or courier, is the responsibility of the exhibitor, who must advise how the entries are to be returned, and prepay return freight.
    Works must be securely and professionally packed and return freight dockets must be forwarded to the Exhibition Committee under separate cover.
    GLAS Inc. is expressly authorised to dispose of any uncollected work in such manner or on such terms as GLAS Inc in its absolute discretion deems fit.
  12. GST Declaration: Entry form includes a declaration re ABN.
    This form must clearly indicate whether you have an ABN, or you are a hobbyist.
    It must be signed and returned with the entry form.
  13. No photographs or digital images printed to photo paper will be accepted for this exhibition.
  14. All decisions of GLAS Inc., the exhibition committee and the judge will be final.
  15. Artists using a Nom De Plume, must also supply their correct name and address on the entry form, along with that Nom De Plume.
