Notice of Motion to change the Constitution

Notice of Motion to change the Constitution of Great Lakes Art Society Incorporated at a Special General Meeting to be held immediately prior to or just after the General Meeting to be held on Monday 7th March 2011 at the Great Lakes Art Society Gallery, 34 Lake Street Forster, 2428, commencing at 1pm.

The sole purpose of this special meeting is to discuss and vote upon the proposed changes to our Constitution as a result of the new Associations Incorporation Act which came into force from 1 July 2010.

These changes and other necessary changes due to the dated nature of our old constitution were discussed in depth at the Committee meeting held on 31st January 2011 and approved in principle, pending a special resolution from the Special General Meeting, now called.

This motion proposes that the new Model Constitution as a whole, after alterations appropriate to our organisation, be adopted.

A copy of the new proposed Constitution is available to any member prior to the meeting on request to the Treasurer, Robin Langfield.

Motion: That the Great Lakes Art Society Incorporated adopt the new Constitution as drafted, including any changes or amendments proposed by the meeting.
